Chinese New Year Gathering

Yesterday was UNITAR TMC's first gathering of the semester. All of the members were in red which symbolizes prosperity in the Chinese community. "Wealth" was chosen as the word of the day in line with the festive season coming up just around the corner.

The gathering started at 5.05 pm. UNITAR TMC set a record yesterday with the highest number of guest in the gathering. We were fortunate to have CTM Daniel by kicking start the meeting with the entertaining Invocation speech. Followed up with TT section by our very own Virgin Table Topic Master TM Hafiz that choosed all the Table Topics based on the theme of the day. Look who we found? Our soon to be potential toastmaster Nimmala that won the Table Topic Section. Her topic was based on Success.

And not forgetting two Competent Communicators were born yesterday. Congratulations to Competent Communicator Lukreiza and Competent Communicator Hui Shan for completing their Competent Communication manual.

The gathering was adjourned at 7.05 pm. Thank you to all role players and guests especially Johnson Yike, ACS, Daniel Teh, CTM, BH Gan, ACS and the MPM members for making our gathering a success. Hope to see you in our next gathering.

Next meeting will be on the 10th of February where the International Speech Club Contest take place. See you there!

New Year, New Semester.....

Inspirational Club Visit

A lot has been going on for UNITAR Toastmasters Club since the New Year started. Just recently we joined Deloitte Kassim Chan for the meeting even when our dear VPE,Jess Foong was having difficulties to walk due to an accident during the holidays.With such high spirit to join the meeting,she even made us realise that a fractured leg can never stop you from attempting the Table Topics Session.Our VPM,Hui Shan also volunteered herself to be one of the "victims" that night. The Best Table Topics Speaker for that night was Hoo Kuang Shan, CC who also boldly did his advance speech from the Entertaining Speaker manual as he was requested to do so at the very last minute. It was truly a night of inspiration to aspire all of us on becoming a better person for year 2009.

Thank you to DKC Toastmasters Club for always supporting us and also receiving us as guests in all their meetings. Last but not least,thanks to our wonderful and selfless President, Julian,CC for sending us home after the meeting. Without his ever ready transport,we could have missed out yet another great experience.
