Ask a scientist and you'll get the physics reply: “Black is not a color, white is a color.” Ask an artist or a child with crayons and you'll get another: “Black is a color, white is not a color.” (Maybe!)

Ask our Toastmaster of the Evening (TME), Jess, CC, ALB, and she will immediately reply: "Black is not considered as a colour in my dictionary".
Ladies and Gentlemen,
On the 9th of June, UNITAR TMC had another meeting of the month with the theme: 'Colours In the Wind'. The word of the day was 'Impressive'.
In order to set the mood for the meeting, our comely TME encouraged (strongly encouraged, ehem) members and guests to wear colourful outfits. Other than black, of course. Unfortunately, our SAA, Amir, TM, was still seen happily clad in his favourite black shirt.
'Colour' is a matter of perspective, I guess :D
The meeting started at 6.00pm, with the opening speech from our Mr President, Julian Gan, CC.
TME later took over the meeting and briefly introduced the history of Toastmasters International and the programme of the evening as we had two new guests in the meeting.
As usual, after the introduction of role players, the meeting was handed over to the Table Topics Master, Lukreiza, CC. Dressed in a green blouse and with a green Scrabble bag in her hand, she explained the rules of the table topics session (Go Green!). The rules are simple, participants need to randomly pick an item from the green bag and talk about the colour or the object itself for about 1-2 minutes. Oh, and not to be forgotten, with a little creativity and imagination!
There were few colourful objects in the bag and four members took part in the session:
1) Amir, TM
2) Julian, CC
3) Hui Shan, CC
4) Jefferey, TM
The best part was the 'Best Table Topics Speaker' won't go home empty handed. For the first time ever, the most voted speaker will receive a goodie bag! What's inside the bag? Well, come and join our next meeting and take part in the table topic session to find out! :D
Or alternatively, you can ask Amir, TM as he was voted for the Best Table Topics Speaker! Congratulations Amir, TM! The same goes to the three other participants for having the courage to come in front and share some personal stories related to the colours and objects with us.
Hope to see some new faces taking part in our next table topics session!
The session would not be complete without the evaluation from our Table Topics Evaluator, Johnson Yike, ACS.
Next, it was time for us to take a break and have some refreshments. Thanks to Hui Shan, CC for the yummy chocolate and butter cake!
Hmm...no wonder we were given about 15 minutes to eat and energized ourselves, guess what, our dearest TME made us sing to the song 'The colours of the wind' from 'Pocahontas' soundtrack! Yes, we had a karaoke session!
It was a really nice and calming song but the chorus part sang by our President made it sound a little bit scary and funny at the same time :))
We had a good time laughing and some were dancing to 'feel' the song. Deep. Indeed. Hehe.
After the singing session, it's time for us to get a bit more serious and focused, for the second part of the meeting. Sarah, TM, attempted project #3, Get to the point, from the Competent Communication Manual. The title of her speech is "Sarah's ways to knock down stress".
The speech was later evaluated by Hui Shan, CC.
General Evaluator then took over the session.
Below are the list of role players of the 'colourful' meeting:
TME : Jess Foong, CC ALB
Table Topics Master : Lukreiza, CC
Table Topics Evaluator: Johnson Yike, ACS
Grammarian : Hui Shan, CC
Time Keeper: Jefferey,TM
Ah-Counter : Amir, TM
General Evaluator : Julian Gan, CC
Thank You for making time to be with us and making the meeting more colourful :)
See you in our next meeting!
